Christmas Day

We had to get to Salt Lake to make it to my step-family's Christmas party. Here's Letty sitting on Papa's lap and opening one of her presents. Letty spent the whole gift opening time sitting on Papa's lap.

Jacyn got a cute little jewelry box that my mom made for her from a cigar box.

She also got a bunch of little story books from Grandma Leila (her Great-Grandmother) that have little buttons on them that play music when you push them. She just loves those books. She started dancing to the music right away.

Every year Dan gets a gift from "Santa" at the Balis party. It is always some type of gag gift. This year it was bandages that look like bacon.

Another thing that happens every year is that Grandma Leila gives each of the adults $200.00. She always puts that money in some kind of puzzle box that we have to solve before we can get to our money. It is so much fun every year to see what she has come up with. This year it was a puzzle box that had a metal ball that you had to move through a maze to get to a specific spot so you could slide the ball over a hinge that would open the door to the compartment inside. It was pretty difficult, at first. Dan got his open first, but he was lucky because his ball was in the right spot in the beginning. I ended up using a marker to mark the path that the ball needed to take and that worked for me. Here's a picture of my sister Marin and her fiance Nathan trying to get their's open.

This is the best picture that I got of Grandma Leila, it's blurry, but she's smiling, so that's good. She's 89 years old.
