A birthday party & Dixie Springs Park

Saturday morning the kids had a birthday party to go to for one of our neighbor's two kids. It was a prince and princess themed party. It was so much fun. It started out with the kids coloring their own crowns and shields.

After the shields were all colored they got to play a game of jousting. Each kid got a balloon taped to their chest and then they would try to knock off the balloon with their jousting stick (a foam pool floaty). They all had a lot of fun doing that.

The next activity was decorating their own goblets. The kids thought it was fun to put little balloons inside their goblets when they were done.

Here's Letty and Thomas eating their cupcakes.

My favorite part of the party was this dragon cake. Megan, the mom, made this cake and took a bunch of candles and put them in his nose and lit them and made him fire breathing. Then afterward she gave all the kids those little mini sandwich swords and let them "slay" the dragon. Thomas told me this morning that he stabbed the dragon in the nose first, then the eye. The kids loved it.

Me and Jacyn playing with a balloon.

Jacyn also had a fun time at the party just crawling around and clapping at everything.

Later that afternoon I took the kids to a new park that's nearby. They found some balloons that someone had left and I was able to fill them up with the splash pad sprayer. The balloons would not pop. It was a lot of fun. We finally got the balloons to pop when they were dropped onto the grass. If you notice in the background Jacyn is practicing walking again and took a few steps.
