Jacyn had Surgery

Jacyn had to have surgery today for an inguinal hernia.  It’s a common occurrence, mostly in boys, but it does happen in girls too, obviously.  It was really a minor surgery and she made it through wonderfully. The actual surgery itself took only 10 minutes, but we were at the hospital for 4 hours. She got a cute little stuffed bear from her Aunt Tammy and absolutely loves it. Now she gets to spend some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa for a week all by herself.

Here she is before surgery in her cute little hospital gown and slippers.  Primary Children’s Hospital is so incredible.  They waiting area was full of XBox 360’s and TV’s with practically any movie they wanted to watch available.  There were toys and coloring books.  We almost watched the entire movie Tangled while we waited for them to come and take her back.  When the anesthesiologist did come to get her he pushed her in a wheelbarrow back to the operating room.

Then she got a slushie and we got a smile out of her.  When we left the hospital we told her we would take her to a candy store and she could get whatever she wanted and she started jumping up and down.  I guess even surgery can’t keep this monkey down.
